We add butter, cinnamon, and vanilla, too. Many variations of the filling exist, but almond paste, sugar, and flour are common ingredients. They are filled with a delicious almond cream. We kinda thought everything buttery and flaky came from France □ Anyhoo, these wonderful pastries came about in the 1920’s and are named after their claw-like shape.
